About the host

Welcome to the "About the Host" section! This page has mostly clinical information on my education and credentials. But just a little bit on my personal information with some of my hobbies (although how proficient I am is questionable): writing, reading, cooking, trying to run a half marathon in all 50 states, D&D, CrossFit, travel, cosplay, and etc. If you read further into this "About the Host" section, it will now conclude with a snapshot of my clinical background.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and 200 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher. In addition, I have a certification in the Trauma Conscious Yoga Method (TCYM), trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Trauma Conscious Yoga (TCY), PREPARE/ENRICH, and DBT-informed practices. I'm also in the process of obtaining a certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP).

I graduated from UGA with my Bachelor's degree in Social Work in 2014, and my master's degree in Social work with a certificate in Nonprofit Management in 2015. I have three additional Associate degrees for Early Childhood Care and Education, Marketing Management (emphasis on analysis and entrepreneurship), and social work.

Currently, I work as a PRN at a community service board crisis center, work full-time in private practice, and volunteer at AADM (Athens Anti-Discrimination Movement), in the civil rights and advocacy department. In addition, I conduct a weekly non-clinical, donation-based Trauma Conscious Yoga (TCY) class through Revolution Therapy and Yoga. I am also licensed in FL and provide clinical supervision for those wanting to obtain their LCSW in GA.

About Tea Talk Therapist
I started this podcast for a variety of reasons, for instance, my love of tea and stories. In addition, I find it fascinating to look at story modalities (e.g., movies, books, shows, personal stories, and etc) through a clinical lens and examining to what degree these stories influence how mental health is understood today as well as takeaways for self-improvement.

Overall, I hope that I am able to share this same joy and insight with this podcast.
